At 1951 hours on Thursday November 4th Fallston Volunteer Fire & Ambulance Company along with units from Company 7 (Jarrettsville), Baltimore County Jacksonville, and Long Green were dispatched for a reported barn fire in the area of Greene Ln & Suffolk Rd. At 1957 hours E1312 from Fallston arrived to find a two story farmhouse with heavy fire & smoke from the first floor. Upon their arrival they were advised of possible people trapped, they requested a Working Fire Assignment, Rescue Box and 2nd Alarm. Crews from E1312 successfully executed a search and rescue, removing an adult male from the structure, followed by another rescue by crews from E712, of a 20 year old male in respiratory arrest. Crews including a FF/paramedic from E1312 tended to both victims, with the 20 year old male being transported to UCMC by P792 where he was declared deceased not long after arrival. Crews on the scene continued with aggressive fire operations, and the fire was brought under control at approximately 2028 hours. Units remained on scene till 0253 Friday morning assisting the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office and Harford County Sheriff’s Office with their investigation. Damage is estimated at approximately $ 100,000.00. One firefighter was reported to have sustained a minor injury. The cause is still currently under investigation, by the Maryland State Fire Marshals Office.
