The National Weather Service has Harford County under a Winter Weather Advisory at this time. The storm that has triggered this advisory will enter Harford County on Friday, January 19th, between 4:00 am and 6:00 am, with snow expected to fall steadily during the morning commute hours and throughout the day with periods of increasing intensity. Expect 3"-4" of snow along the Route 40 corridor (Aberdeen, Abingdon, Edgewood, Joppa) and 4"-6" in the Northern part of the county.

With the snowfall, expect wind chills and gusts between 30-40 mph that will keep temperatures below freezing. At times, the outside temperatures could reach single digits.

Where can you help as a community during this weather event:

Keeping our roads clear for emergency vehicles and our partners at DPW and SHA. Please move all vehicles off the roadway and into your driveway if you have one. For those residences that do not have driveway access, please park on the even side of the roadway. Vehicles on the roadway make it difficult for our apparatus and plow trucks to safely navigate the roadways during inclement weather and difficult road conditions.

Staying home during the storm and once it is over, allow DPW and SHA to continue to clear roads with minimal obstacles.

Please do not snowblow or shovel snow back into the street.

Please clear snow from around fire hydrants if you are able. Clearing hydrants once we arrive at the scene takes extra time and hinders us from accessing a water source.

Clearing your driveway, sidewalks, and access to your home for our safety and yours in case of an emergency.
